Visa Services
Citizens and residents of the Republic of Mauritius, the Republic of Seychelles, and Reunion (Department of France) who wish to apply for a non-immigrant visa should follow the application procedures. Beginning October 1, 2006, the Embassy only accepts electronic visa application forms (EVAF). Applicants may no longer fill out paper visa application forms. To better serve the needs of non-immigrant visa applicants, we have instituted an online visa appointment service. As of March 1, appointments will be MANDATORY for all visa applicants. Once you have completed your on-line application form, you will be directed to the appointment system. Each applicant should make a separate appointment, even if you are traveling together. At the time of your appointment, you will submit your printed visa application, passport, photos, and receipt, and you will be given a time to return to the U.S. Embassy later that morning for your interview with a consular officer.
The Embassy strongly encourages intending travelers to apply for visas well in advance of their proposed journey, and to always refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued and they are in receipt of their passport and visa. Generally, applicants may wish to schedule their visa appointments at least one month in advance of their proposed travel to the United States.
To plan effectively your visit to the Embassy, please see our Visa appointment wait times and processing times. However the times displayed are only averages and may vary based on individual circumstances of each case.
The Consular section offers non-immigrant visa services information during specific hours.
U.S. Embassy Port Louis does not process immigrant visas for Mauritian or Seychellois citizens. These immigrant visas are handled by U.S. Embassy Nairobi.
