Electronic Visa Application Forms (EVAF) Commences October 1, 2006

September 22, 2006

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States is pleased to announce that, beginning October 1, 2006, it will accept only Electronic Visa Application Forms (EVAF).  These forms, readily available on the Internet, will allow us to rapidly process all nonimmigrant visa applications and will enable us to provide more efficient service to our customers.  This policy is being applied worldwide.

Individuals who do not have access to the internet at home or in offices may access the forms at any one of the multiple internet cafes located in Mauritius.  Please note that the information must be entered into the system and the application, with its barcode, must be printed out and brought to the Consular Section for application.

For full information on visa application procedures, please visit the Embassy website at http://mauritius.usembassy.gov/.  On-line visa forms may be downloaded directly at http://evisaforms.state.gov/
