Visit of Mr. Christophe Aubin-Nury, U.S. Department of State's Speaker on African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)

The U.S. Embassy in Port Louis is pleased to announce the visit of Mr. Christophe Aubin-Nury to Mauritius, Rodrigues, and Comoros, September 11 – 23, 2005, under the Department of State's U.S. Speaker Program.  Mr. Aubin-Nury is a consultant with broad international experience and a speaker on AGOA issues and entrepreneurship in developing markets and economies.  His expertise also includes economic development, finance, and privatization.  Mr. Aubin-Nury's professional experience and consultancies have taken him to Cameroon, Gabon, Benin, Madagascar, Morocco, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, the United States, and France.  He currently works in Paris with a World Bank registered consulting company.

Mr. Aubin-Nury holds an MBA in international business from Schiller International University, Paris and a Masters in European Business Law from University of Paris I – La Sorbonne.  In 1999, he attended the Harvard Institute for International Development Executive Program on privatization, regulatory reform and corporate governance. 

During his visit, Mr. Aubin-Nury will meet with Mauritian government officials, public and private sector institutions that deal with AGOA-related issues, visit factories, and give presentations to a targeted audience of government officials and private sector operators.  He will speak on "AGOA and Globalization of World Trade" at a high-level seminar organized jointly by the U.S. Embassy and MEPZA at 2.00 p.m. on Monday September 19 at Clos St Louis, Domaine Les Pailles.

Mr. Aubin-Nury's tour will include a 24-hour visit to Rodrigues.  He will meet with the Island Chief Commissioner and the Island Chief Executive as well as representatives of the private sector, women entrepreneurs associations, and high school students.  In Rodrigues, Mr Aubin-Nury will focus on economic development and entrepreneurship.
