U.S. Government Provides Training in Counter-Terrorism

September 3,  2004

United States Government instructors have just conducted a course on analyzing information on counter-terrorism at VIPSU headquarters for 16 officers from the Mauritius Police Force.  The objectives of the course, which started on August 23 and ended today, September 3, are to provide the police officers with an overview of international terrorism and give them a better understanding of counter terrorism investigations.  This training is part of a series of events designed to enhance the counter-terrorism capabilities of both countries.

Today, certificates of course completion were given out to the Mauritian Police Officers.  The certificate award ceremony was attended by Ambassador John Price and the Director General of the National Security Service, Mr. Narainkrishna Peerun.
