Hosts U.S. Agricultural Commodities Market Development Workshop Conducted by Leading U.S. Experts

U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Virginia Blaser will open a half-day U.S. agricultural commodities market development workshop on Monday, April 6. Hon. Satish Faugoo, Minister of Agro-Industry, Food Production and Security will also address the participants. A number of private companies and institutions in the agribusiness sector as well as government officials will attend the workshop.
The workshop will be led by the following U.S. experts: Ms. Kari Rojas, Agricultural Attaché, U.S. Department of Agriculture, based at the U.S. Embassy in South Africa; Mr. Kurt Shultz, Regional Director, U.S. Grain Council, based in Tunisia; and Mr. Peter Joyce, Director, U.S. Potato Board, based in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. In addition, Mr. Heiko Koster, U.S. Grain Council’s consultant for South Africa, will be available to answer questions from the participants.
A catalog/CD display of leading U.S. producers of agricultural commodities (including corn, soybean, potatoes, seeds, and other grains), their different varieties, production methods, and export norms will be available for consultation by participants.
Following the workshop, the U.S. experts will be available for consultations and site visits on April 7 and 8.
