On-line Visa Appointments
February 15, 2007
The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius, is pleased to announce a new on-line visa interview appointment service. In an effort to provide better service to visa applicants, we will begin processing visa applications as of March 1, 2007 only for those applicants who have booked the appointment online.
Visa applicants will fill out the mandatory online application, a DS-156, and then will continue on to book their appointments. The forms and appointment system are located at http://evisaforms.state.gov/.
Applicants must bring their completed application form as well as other required documentation to the Consular Section at the appointment time. Consular staff will screen the applicants and then give the applicant another appointment time for the visa interview later that morning.
The new procedures will substantially improve service standards. Applicants will know what time to come and will be able to meet with consular staff without having to wait in line.
