5th Fleet Ship to Help out Tsunami Damaged Seychelles During Port Call

Approximately 300 sailors from the USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) are currently providing assistance to areas in the Seychelles damaged during the Dec. 26th tsunami.
 
The crew from The Sullivans is assisting in clean-up efforts during their port visit to the islands in the southernmost portion of the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR). 
 
The U.S. guided missile destroyer deployed August 20, 2004, from its homeport of Mayport, Florida, USA.  It is currently operating in the AOR as part of Commander, Task Force 150 (CTF 150).
 
CTF 150 is comprised of ships from France, Italy, Germany, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and over the past years has included ships from 12 nations conducting operations covering an area of over 2 million square miles, in support of the Global War on Terror.
