PAO Harper Speaks at MLK/BHM Event
The Grupman Larkansiel Kreol organized a presentation on Martin Luther King (MLK) day and Black History (BHM) to mark the 177th anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Mauritius. PAO Vanessa Harper, who was guest speaker at the event, carried out a presentation on both themes, focusing on the Civil Rights Movement.
Super Bowl in Mauritian School
Embassy diplomats and American football enthusiasts and former Mauritian Yale football player, Vedant Seeam, shared their passion with some 100 students of St Esprit College, in view of Super Bowl 46. Students also participated in a sports trivia, and learned about the sports scholarships available in U.S. universities.
Presentation on the U.S. Electoral Process
U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Troy Fitrell led a talk on the U.S. Electoral Process on Wednesday January 25 at the N. Saddul College in Vacoas (center). Students and teachers from neighboring high schools attended.
Mauritian PM Meets Deputy USTR
The Deputy USTR Ambassador Demetrios Marantis paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navin Ramgoolam. He was accompanied by the delegation including Assistant USTR Florizelle Lizer and representatives of the Department of State and USAID.
