Digital Video Conference on Bilateral Investment Treaty
The U.S. Embassy hosted a Digital Video Conference on the Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) on Tuesday March 9, 2010, with U.S. businesses in Mauritius and the U.S. negotiators of the BIT, whose purpose is to strengthen investor protections and encourage the continuation of market-oriented economic reforms in Mauritius.
Enterprise Mauritius and Nairobi Trade Hub Sign MoU
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Wednesday March 10, 2010 between Enterprise Mauritius and Nairobi Trade Hub, outlining a three-year plan on increasing Mauritian exports to the United States.
Reception aboard the HSV Swift
On Tuesday, February 23, the U.S. Embassy and Captain James. E. Tranoris, Commodore, Africa Partnership Station (AFS) hosted a reception on board the HSV Swift. Military-to-military training and cultural exchanges were conducted as part of the Africa Partnership Station (APS) East five-day port visit to Port Louis.
"A View From the Bridge" Staged in Mauritius
The Embassy hosted a press conference on Monday March 8, 2010 and announced the staging of "A View from the Bridge" by American playwright Arthur Miller. Actors are from the Drama Club of the Mauritius Institute of Education.
