Consular Section

The Consular Section at U.S. Embassy Port Louis offers American Citizen Services and Visa Services.

The American Citizen Services Unit assists U.S. citizens with application for new or renewed U.S. passports, registration of U.S. citizens living in Mauritius, Reunion, or Seychelles, registration of U.S. citizens born in Mauritius, Reunion, or Seychelles, voter registration, social security and veterans’ benefits, provision of federal income tax forms, notarial service for documents being used in the United States, and certain emergency services, including prisoner protection and documentation of the deceased.

The Visa Unit processes all categories of non-immigrant visas for foreign nationals wishing to travel to the United States. We do not process immigrant visas, which are handled by U.S. Embassy Nairobi.
